Keeping the house clean during the holidays

[4]

As the holidays get closer, we all get busier.  Pageants, programs and parties overwhelm the calendar and seem to take over the normal routines and schedules.  If you are feeling like you don’t know when you’re going to be able to clean your bathroom next, try a little Holiday Cleaning Container.  Source your favorite supplies in a small bucket or caddy, add some cleaning cloths and a candle.  Next time you have fifteen minutes, grab your Holiday Cleaning Container and clean the worst offender.  Someone’s dropping by in an hour?  No need to panic, grab your kit (everything’s where you need it) and do a little holiday quick clean.

Here’s what I keep in my Holiday Cleaning Container:

all-purpose spray cleaner
(I use Basic H2 [6]or vinegar/water and add a little clove and lemon or orange essential oils to give the house a festive scent)

cleaning wipes for a quick clean

microfiber cleaning cloths

dusting mitten

window/mirror cleaning cloth

carpet refresher
(mix 1 cup of baking soda with 10-12 drops essential oil – keep in a tight container and sprinkle a little bit on carpet before vacuuming)

 holiday scented candle
(light when you start cleaning, by the time you’re done, not only will you have something clean, but it’ll smell great too)

Keep your holiday cleaning container stored in an easy to access spot (under the kitchen sink, etc). Then whenever you need to, you can set the timer for 15 minutes and do a quick pick up & clean up!!

What will you put in your container?
