My new weekly link party starts TODAY! {One Project at a Time}

March 29, 2011
I’m a super excited about sharing a new blogging event with my readers here at A Bowl Full of Lemons!

I love, love, love hosting weekly organizing & cleaning challenges (and they will still continue as long as there is participation), BUT I felt like I was excluding those readers who don’t like organizing (or don’t want to participate in the challenge).  So I came up with a new weekly LINK PARTY called “One Project at a Time”. I’m hoping this will include ALL of my readers.  I will host the party every Tuesday & will be sharing my recent projects with you all. You will have the entire week (until next Tuesday) to link up your current projects & happenings for the week.  There are no rules to linking up so go crazy!

Some link up party ideas:

Cooking & Sharing recipes (I love this!)
Organizing
Furniture Makeovers
Remodeling
Crafting
Weight Loss endeavors
Painting
Cleaning
Decorating
Silhouetting’
Scrappin’
Photography
and anything else under the sun!

This week,
I am working on about a thousand projects. One of them has been to finish my master bedroom. While I’m not finished, I have completed the painting!

Here is my (totally) unfinished master bedroom…

Now thats a messy bed. 🙂

Things I still need to do:

1. Make another trip to Ikea to purchase my bed (here).

2.  Purchase night stands (still pondering what I want. Any suggestions?)

3. Create vinyl wall art (Again, any suggestions for unique quotes, etc?)

4. Cover lamp shades with vintage style linen.

5. Make king sized bed skirt (Im thinking either a burlap or oatmeal colored linen fabric)

6. Make Mr. & Mrs. throw pillows (like here).
I {LOVE} brown ticking! (My pillow fabric)

Ikea Bed… on my next trip to Ikea.
The Dear Lillie blog has a lamp in her master bedroom, which I {ADORE}! Instead of using black fabric, I think I will use an oatmeal linen fabric.  I don’t think it will be too difficult to make.  A glue gun and straight stitch sewing (ruffles). She posted a tutorial on how to make the lamp shades {here}.

We even have the same bedding!

I LOVE her style… It’s very similar to mine.  So her bedroom picture will be on my inspiration board for my master retreat.  After spring break, I will be finishing this project & many more.

What projects have you been working on?  I would love for you to share! We all need some {blogland} inspiration. Lets party!!

Grab a button & link up your project. Please add my button to your project post to share with everyone else, so they can join in to!

I would also LOVE if you would spread the word about my “new” link party. A quick blog post, facebook post or tweet about {One Project at a Time} would be so greatly appreciated. I love you all!

~Toni

Love your bedroom ideas so far! And I’m excited you’re doing a general linky party! Your last linky party on schedules really helped my new blog. So on my most recent post I put your new button for your “One Project at a Time” to help get the word out. Thanks again!

  4. Thanks for hosting! I’m going to tweet about this blog party. I also have a link party on Wednesdays, come on over and post a link if you can!

  5. Love these quotes: The best way to predict your future is to create it and Shoot for the moon, at least you will land among the stars. And Live with passion. Tone

  6. Love this idea! I’ve started my own post every Tuesday with things on my to-do list 🙂 It helps keep me motivated, and reminds me of things I’ve been wanting to do but haven’t gotten to yet!

  7. I just have to say that you have a beautiful blog! Every time I come on here it’s a treat for the eyes! Love the pics on the top!

I can’t wait to see what your bedroom looks like when you’re done Toni!

I’m working on my studio for next week – I posted what I worked on this weekend.

  10. Roberta says:

Sounds like a great idea and it coordinates with my Typical Tuesday posts. Thanks for hosting Toni. Fondly, Roberta

  11. This is TOO PERFECT! I have been so inspired by you and some other lovely ladies (blogs) that I found through yours that I have started my own blog about my “battle with Chaos”…

I just popped in to tell you as a thank you for the inspiration… I linked your blog and the other ladies too on my post for my COMPLETED first project… and found THIS!

    Timing really is EVERYTHING!

I will grab your new button to add to my site/post as well.

I hope you find time to check it out… if only you knew just how domestically challenged I am (queen-of-clutter-stressed-out-messed-out-mom) you’d be shocked at the progress I’ve made with just my first room.

I also started a home management binder (thank you thank you thank you) that I call “Mom’s Survival Guide”… and I will be blogging about that next… and linking you there as well!

I’m glad you started this linky party. I came across your blog when you were on the very end of your 21 day challenge, and I fell in love with the idea! So, I’ve been working very hard to finish that list. I work full time, and have a daughter so I can only do my list a little at a time. Just linked up one of the days I finished.

Hi Toni ~ While you are at IKEA getting your bed take a look at these night stands (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10073835). They would actually match your bed. We have them next to our wooden framed bed and they look pretty good! I will link up my project later this week!

  14. Dear Lillie says:

Thanks so much for mentioning us! Love that bed and your pillow fabric!

  15. Ms Jeannie says:

    Hey Toni,

Does the project have to be complete to be linked up.. Right now … like you I have many I am tackling at a time… I am focusing on my Mud/Pantry room and the garden… But each week I try to blog about the stages I am currently in… does it count to to link up with? Or just looking for ones that are currently been completed?

  16. Emily S says:

I just have to say that I AM SO GLAD you posted pictures of what you are doing with your bedroom! I am doing a black and white scheme and right now the room is painted green, but I wanted to switch it to a warm gray or a beige and I love how beautiful your room looks!

  17. Thanks for sharing, it makes me feel better that I am not the only one who seems to have 1000 projects started and none that are actually finished or perfected 🙂

  18. Hi Toni!
So excited to be your new follower.
You have so many great things to view!
I love this bedroom and like you, I would love it even more with burlap colored linens layered in there too. Can’t wait to see what you will do!

I want to enter your silhouette giveaway but I need to figure out what that is! If it is a machine or something to make the numbers that you made for your new canisters and chairs, sign me up! I love to textorate too!
    xx
