Here’s what MPMK has to say about the kit:

“Teaching our kids to be contributing members of the family through routines, “family jobs” and “earning jobs” is one of our most important roles as parents. Not only does it instill within them responsibility and self-reliance, when done right, it also serves to teach fundamental life skills including saving, budgeting and even giving back.”

Modern Parents Messy Kids new Kids’ Responsibility & Money Management Kit has everything you need to get kids of all ages started on the right track including:

  • Morning and evening routine charts (blanks and using images for pre-readers)
  • “Family Jobs” and “Earning Job” charts
  • A Kids’ budgeting Ledger
  • A Savings Goal Chart
  • Printable Spend/Save/Share piggy bank labels

The new “vintage style” ball mason jars are the perfect containers to use for the “share, spend, save” categories. You can find them here.

Print out the pages & place them on a clipboard. I will be using velcro to attach them to each of my kids bedroom doors.  If they visibly see the list each day, they are more likely to keep up with their responsibilities without us parents having to nag them.

  1. I love this, Toni! It’s so important for kids to learn about money when they are young, and I love the three categories! Pinning.

  2. Jenny Lynn says:

This is a great idea! I like the cute jars.

  3. Jenny says:

Where did you buy that clip board from?

  4. Michelle says:

Is there any way just to buy this?

  5. Jessica says:

    Hi,
I love this! Just bought it last night and am getting everything in order. I was wondering if you could give me some examples of what you would call “family jobs” vs. kids “chores/jobs”..I wish there was an example of the pages that were filled out just to use as ideas and get a better idea of how to utilize this system best.
    Thanks!

    • Rachel says:

In my house, ‘family jobs’ are those things that you do simply because you live in a house with others… pick up your toys, clear your place after a meal. Chores can be helping empty the dishwasher, dust, vacuum, fold laundry, sweep the kitchen, etc.

  6. Tiffany T says:

What is the Share bank for?

    • Rachel says:

that’s the jar that is used to teach children about giving. Whether it be a tithe for church or giving to a charity, it teaches selflessness when it comes to money.

    Hi Toni,

I’m an intermittent lurker. Love your site! It looks like this question may already be answered, but are you offering this set for sale by itself now that the school bundle is past (and I, of course, missed it)?

    Thanks!
