One Project at a Time: 4/1/14

April 1, 2014

Have you been spring cleaning? Purging and organizing? How about working on your garden and your homes curb appeal? If so, I invite you to share your hard work with us here today. As we shine the spotlight on all of you during our weekly link party, we take pleasure in featuring three link ups from last week; Toni’s pick, my pick and one of the most visited link ups from last week.

We love seeing your DIY projects, recipes in action, green living tips and everything in between. Just be sure to grab a button before you link up so you can spread the word about this fantastic party!

TONI’S PICK:

From the adorable chevron contact paper to dual functioning furniture, this closet office has it all. As Toni’s pick this week, the sisters from Emily Joan Designs showcase how a simple closet can become a fully functional alternative for an office. You’ll want to see how they made it all work by clicking <HERE>

RACHEL’S PICK:

She had me at hello; well, she had me from “organise’ and ‘budget’. Sheriden, from Me and My Ready Made Family, shared a fantastic post that featured two of my favorite things: organizing on a budget by using things around the house and a free printable. I’m all for spending less and making more out of what you already have laying around. You can get inspired, just like me, by clicking <HERE>.

TOP PICK:

Congratulations to Jessica from 1-2-3 Neat and Tidy on being one of most visited link ups because of her post on shoe organization. If you haven’t had the chance to check it out, you’ll want to click <HERE> and find out what her secret to keeping things neat and tidy is.

Thank you for sharing such a great post! I love how you used the ‘seat’ to store your extra paper stash. So resourceful.

  5. No pictures to post, but yesterday after perusing the mess made of my front lawn from snow plows and piled up snow banks and now to my dismay, a lawn full of cinders, I am going to put up 2 additional 10 foot sections of split rail fencing so the township can only push the mess so far onto my lawn! I also noticed a mailbox at an old farmhouse that recently changed hands. I am going to copy their idea. I plan to paint my white mailbox a subtle evergreen color and stencil the house numbers on each side of it in white. It looked so clean and fresh. While I am at it, I will give my mailbox post a good scrubbing. It is white but needs a good cleaning. I am also going to remove the daily newspaper box, since I now have them delivering to my porch. Working on my front door piece, should be done soon. Old Cranberry Scoop painted with chalk paint, waxed, washed with another color, waxed, stenciled and then waxed with a darker finishing wax for an older distressed finish. Will then fill it with silk spring flowers. Nice change from a wreath.

You sound inspiring-ly busy! I love it. My front door is on the agenda for this summer; including some updated wreaths and other hangings. If you ever get the chance to share your pictures, I’d love to see them.

Ooh, I think you just inspired me to attack my front porch. I’m ready for it to stop feeling like winter so I can fill my planters, redo my flower beds and start ‘outdoor living’ again! Glad you decided to join in the fun today.
