Decorating my mantel for spring…

March 11, 2012
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.”

Decorating for spring is one of my favorite things to do.  And one of my favorite colors this year is a cheery yellow.  It just screams sunshine! I really should NOT be decorating now since we are moving SOON, but I couldnt help myself.  It was driving me nuts seeing all the cute rooms on pinterest.  Its only a mantel anyways, right? Its not too hard to pack back up.

Below: I made 2 of these topiaries last year, but when we moved, I left them on my mantel in our old house. So when I saw them at the store, I was tickled to get them.

I adore this wreath.

The bird cage is a great springtime decoration.  Do you have any suggestions on what to put in it?  Or leave it empty?

When I saw this sign at the store yesterday, I knew it would be fitting for a spring mantel. After a long winter full of gray skies, its nice to see some sunshine. Although living in South Carolina, I am blessed with sunshine most days! 😉

I originally purchased this basket to hang on my front door.. but for now, it will sit by the fireplace until we get moved.

A little peek at our “rental” home.  This is about all we have decorated.  Everything else is packed up in boxes, in the garage.

This is about all the decorating you are going to see from me until we get moved. 🙂

More than the decorations,I think I love the lines, ‘you are my sunshine, my only sunshine…’ Only that my sunshine makes me happy all the time.

Love the mantle! That sign is perfect and I love the bird cage placement. Also, I’d keep it empty. I’m a big fan of that!
