Day #14 ~ Getting Organized Challenge (Under the Bathroom Sink)

January 17, 2011
Welcome to Day #14!!!  Only 7 more days to go… wow, it has gone so fast.  Today we are cleaning out and organizing underneath the bathroom sink.  Mine is a disaster area.  Its been needing some organization thats functional for quite a while now.  So, off to Big Lots to get some more bins.

You all know how to organize a space now…

-take your messy picture
-yank everything out
-scrub it clean
-keep, toss, donate
-organize
-put it all back
-take your after picture

If you are new to the challenge, click on the button below to see what it’s all about and join in!

Here is my messy hotspot!

I took everything out and scrubbed it clean with my Basic H.

 It was filthy!

Then I laid some contact paper that I had leftover from my kitchen sink project. I purchased it from Target for less than $6.00.

All  organized thanks to Big Lots!

Travel/vacation sizes go in one box.

Extra stuff goes in another…

I used wire shelves from Big Lots.  They were $3.00 each.

Girly things… can even look cute in a pretty basket.

Forgot to label… here is an after shot.

LOVE this hairdryer/curling iron over the door bin.  Easy to get to.

Thats it!  Now show us yours…

  1. You know, I really like the idea of using paper to line underneath the sink. Under one of our sinks is just getting worn looking (not dirty, but worn), and I’d love to cover it up. Thanks for the idea.

  2. Becky says:

OK…so when you say you used Basic H – did you use the spray of all purpose or straight from the bottle?

Your “feminine” products made me laugh cause I’ll be posting JUST that next week πŸ˜‰

    Nice job…as always!

You must have known i had plans to work on myea pantry wall in my office/craft room tomorrow so you picked an area I already did, back for under kitchen sink day! Thanks! I’m proud that I’ve been keeping up, for the most part, especially when I coulda skipped areas since they didn’t need work, but did a different area instead!

I really love those wire shelves…I am going to have to look for those. I wish I had time to do each day to do these daily. I will do them over time and refer here because this is a great challenge.

Oh my gosh!! Is the over the door hairdryer thingee from Target too?????? I SOOOO need one! I leave mine on the floor, but the flat iron goes in a drawer! (sigh) Btw, we have the same hairdryer.

  18. D'Arcy says:

I am totally motivated to organize, not one, not two, but three “under the bathroom sink” areas. I would say mine is going to be the hardest to tackle, but I think it will actually be my husband. (I may secretly throw things in under his side) πŸ™‚

  19. Unknown says:

Hi! I love your ideas for organizing under the sink! I just moved into a smaller place and need to find the best way to store my stuff. Where did you find your over the door curling iron/hair dryer rack??

  20. I love the way your under the sink came out. I believe I am starting to like it a lot more than mine. I may have to reconstruct mine. Thanks for all you do.

  21. Michelle says:

I love it! I also am making a trip to big Lots for the door organizer πŸ™‚

  22. I know this is a super old post, but I came across it on Pinterest and really love how you organized the space. I loved it so much I included it in my post about Under Sink Organization Solutions (http://wp.me/p38Tfs-dH). Thanks for the inspiration!
