One project at a time… Tuesday Link Party. (Bar stools facelift)

August 9, 2011
In between all of the hustle and bustle of getting prepared to move, I have been “staging” our home to sell.  We remodeled our kitchen over a year ago and never quite got to shop for bar stools.  It wasn’t until my realtor suggested we get some for the area, did I even think about it.  I knew I did not want to spend a fortune on them, so off to Walmart I went.  They had the saddle bar stools for $19.97 each (cheaper at my store than online) but they did not have the color I wanted. They only had a honey oak color or black (the oak ones were cheaper).  So I spray painted them a chocolate brown.  $65 bucks later, we now have a cute breakfast bar where the kiddos can eat & snack. They love them.

Before…

  1. LOVE the color of the stools…I’m sure your house will sell quickly now! 🙂 Funny the things that we don’t notice, but that do help to finish a room off. 🙂

  2. Kitchen looks great! Don’t you love that we finally get around to all those projects just in time to sell our house and have someone else enjoy all the hard work?

  3. Thanks for hosting! I love the black stools, and I like the way they “pop” against the white. I have read where some designers believe that all rooms should have a little black in them! Your home is so lovely, it will sell. Lots of luck with your move!

hi Toni, I definitely like that look! I’m with you – much prefer that darker espresso color to the light oak. Thank you for hostessing today and hope your week is off to a great start 🙂 Diane

  5. I love the stools! I used to have some of these but after we moved we no longer have a bar to put them up to!

I think they turned out GREAT!!! I don’t think you are going to have any trouble selling your adorable home. 🙂

  7. Very excited for you! They are cute…I’m sure having your house staged will be a good blog post to show, too!
